Divine Technology, represented by Mr. Yongchae Lee, participated in the '2023 Future Mobility Technology Exchange' held at the KAIST Academic and Cultural Center in Daejeon on February 28th.

Divine Technology is a certified partner of ANSYS, a global engineering software company, and has been supplying their solutions in various fields such as optics, photonics, virtual reality (VR), acoustics, sensors, autonomous driving, digital twin, embedded software, and functional safety analysis in South Korea.

During this event, Divine Technology introduced a physics-based autonomous driving simulation platform and services for test & validation.

The autonomous driving simulation platform showcased during the technology exchange event is characterized by a toolchain composed of CARLA, Ansys AVxcelerate, Autoware, Ansys optiSLang, GT Program, and more. It utilizes the functionality of the underlying software to define the physical properties of all objects, including roads, lanes, traffic lights, streetlights, buildings, cars, pedestrians, and the sun.

Furthermore, for vehicles, it provides detailed physical attributes divided into 25 layers, including body, glass, bumpers, upper and lower lights, brake lights, wheels, and more. It also defines the dielectric properties and reflectance of objects that affect radar and LiDAR sensor perception. Additionally, it accurately captures data related to the position of the sun and light intensity based on time and seasons, ensuring precision in the range and detail of perception.

Based on these advantages, Divine Technologies' Autonomous Driving Simulation Platform offers a wide range of applications in a virtual environment. It includes safety test & validation, and improvement of perception algorithms, evaluation, and verification of decision and control algorithms, among others. Additionally, it allows for the assessment and optimization of sensor specifications, combinations, positions, and quantities for components like cameras, radars, LiDARs, and more.

A representative from Divine Technologies pointed out, "Accidents caused by lane recognition failures, object recognition deficiencies, or obstacles are significant concerns in terms of reliability and safety for autonomous vehicles. Moreover, conducting real-world autonomous driving tests in various environments with different variables, such as hazardous situations and weather conditions, is often close to impossible for most autonomous driving companies."

However, this highlights the increasing importance of autonomous driving simulations. Divine Technologies emphasizes its commitment to addressing industry needs with solutions and services that have a long track record of outstanding accuracy and stability.

The 2023 Future Mobility Technology Exchange Conference, jointly organized by the Korea Autonomous Vehicle Industry Association (KAAMI), KAIST, and the Korea Automotive Technology Institute (KATECH), aims to promote the development of Korea's future growth engine, the mobility industry, and secure global leadership. The event facilitates robust cooperation between the government, industry, leading universities, and research institutions through programs such as mobility product and technology tours, networking sessions, core technology exchanges, and startup pitching.
